Monica “Gadget” Mendoza, Program Director

Monica “Gadget” Mendoza (she, her, hers) is native to sunny Southern California, born and raised in San Bernardino, CA, with her mom, dad and three older brothers. She received her education at Cal State University, San Bernardino earning her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in education. For the past three years she has dedicated her time to the classroom as an Early Literacy/Numeracy Intervention Guest Teacher in the San Bernardino City Unified School District. Her experience working with adolescents began in the year 2009 facilitating communication workshops, as an adolescent herself. Gadget joined the Pyles community in 2015 as our Krafts specialist and later as Ropes specialist. She now joins our full-time staff as our first female Program Director.

On her free time, you’ll find her on the trails conquering peaks alongside her hiking group. On a road trip, possibly taking her cross-country stopping to have coffee or ice cream, maybe both. If not, she is visiting a different country appreciating the moment and petting every dog that crosses her path.
