Adam "Stripes" Bell,  Executive Director   Stripes is a native of Rochester, NY and got his start in Youth Development at the most-attended overnight camp in Western New York. He spent a total of 16 summers on their staff, including 5 years as Camp Director. He is an active volunteer with the American Camp Association, and has received regional and national awards for his volunteer work as an Accreditation Standards Visitor, Local Council of Leaders Member, conference presenter and National Conference Committee Member. He has presented Youth-Development workshops across the United States, Canada, and Asia.  Adam believes strongly in the camp experience and its ability to prepare our young men for life. By spending time away from home, unplugging from technology and being present in the moment, boys can become independent while learning skills that are needed in today's workforce. Darren "Shotgun" King, Facilities Manager   Shotgun has worked in the youth services field for more than 30 years. First as a camp counselor and then as a program leader for the Wilderness Institute where he led outdoor recreation programs including hikes, team building, ropes course, rock climbing, reptile programs and frontier skills classes. He graduated with honors from Humboldt State University with a degree in Recreation Administration and a minor in Natural Resources Interpretation and Business.  He began working at Pyles Camp in 1987 as a summer camp counselor and program specialist and continued on a seasonal basis until 1995 when he joined the full time staff. His first position was the Program Coordinator responsible for the Winter Outreach program and coordinating the selection of Lioneers and Voyagers. In 2002 he became the Facilities Director responsible for overseeing all the facilities, building, supplies, equipment, purchasing and food. He is also responsible for the yearbook which is published each year as well as assisting Bamm-Bamm with the day to day operations of running camp.   shotgun@pylescamp.com

She was employed by the Cal State University system for 10 years in an Office Manager/Human Resources position before accepting a position with a private CPA firm as their Firm Administrator where she was employed for 12 years. Jorge “Panda” Mendoza, Program Director   Jorge “Panda” Mendoza was first introduced to R.M. Pyles Boys Camp as a young boy; when his father, a camp alumnus, shared stories and took him to visit the camp during the summer. Then, in the summer of 2007, Panda was selected to attend Pyles Camp as a camper. During his time with Pyles Camp, Panda has held various positions including group counselor, activity specialist, Lion Meadows Director and, most recently, Program Director.  Panda holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of Redlands. While in school, Panda was involved with the university’s Outdoor Programs where he led a variety of hiking, backpacking, and camping trips. After graduation, Panda worked as an environmental specialist, where he conducted environmental monitoring and facilitated environmental education seminars before returning to Pyles Boys Camp to serve as Program Director. In this role, Panda oversees the year-round outreach program, lioneer and voyageer recruitment, and assists Bamm-Bamm with the management of camp.  Panda is an avid hiker and backpacker who believes strongly in the nurturing and restorative powers of outdoor recreation and a wilderness experience. When not wandering through the forests, Panda can be found participating in obstacle course races, rock climbing, or running with his dogs.     Panda@pylescamp.com
