- Process and acknowledge donations through our approved providers.
- Send email updates to people who choose to subscribe.
- Maintain safety, security, records, and legal compliance.
- Understand broad website usage without intentionally placing sensitive camper information into analytics systems.
4. Children, campers, and family information
Pyles serves young people, so we treat camper information with particular care. Children under 13 should not submit personal information directly through Pylescamp.org. Camper registration and sensitive program information should be provided by a parent, guardian, or other authorized adult through the registration or referral systems designated by Pyles.
Do not send medical records, medication information, immunization records, student records, or other sensitive camper information through general website contact methods unless Pyles specifically instructs you to do so through an approved secure process.
When Pyles publishes identifiable camper photos, videos, or stories, we aim to use them consistent with applicable permissions and program practices. Families may contact Pyles with questions about public-facing media involving a participant.
5. Third-party services
Pyles uses service providers to operate parts of the experience. These may include Squarespace for the public website, CampInTouch for camper registration and account access, Little Green Light and connected payment services for donations, and Constant Contact for email subscriptions. When you leave Pylescamp.org for one of these services, that provider may collect information under its own terms and privacy practices.
6. Cookies and analytics
Pylescamp.org may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for site operation, security, preferences, or analytics. We configure website analytics to avoid sending names, email addresses, telephone numbers, health information, dates of birth, or other sensitive camper information to analytics platforms.
We do not use advertising or remarketing pixels on camper registration pathways. We also do not use session-recording tools on family, camper, or registration pages.
7. Email communications
If you choose to join the Pyles email list, our email service provider processes your subscription. You can unsubscribe through the link included in marketing emails. Transactional or program-related communications may be handled separately from optional marketing subscriptions.
8. Selling or behavioral advertising
Pyles does not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly sell or use the personal information of children for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices change, we will update this policy and implement any legally required choices or notices.
9. Data retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, program administration, donor and accounting records, safety, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or other legitimate nonprofit operations. Retention periods vary by information type and system.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Your choices and requests
You may contact Pyles to ask about personal information you have provided, request a correction, ask for deletion where appropriate, or raise a privacy concern. Some records may need to be retained for legal, safety, accounting, program, or other legitimate purposes.
California privacy laws do not apply to every organization in the same way. Pyles is a nonprofit organization, but we still aim to provide reasonable access, correction, deletion, and communication choices when practical and legally appropriate.
12. External links
Our website links to other websites and services. Pyles is not responsible for the privacy, security, or content practices of third-party websites. Review their policies before submitting personal or sensitive information.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our website, programs, technology, or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last updated.
